Most likely weighing in at well over 300 pounds.

We moved the old TV to my parents room. It's not as heavy as the new one... but that's not saying much... the thing was still a monster. The task at hand was to put this beastly moniter on top of... you know I'm not sure what the word for it is... probably some sort of dresser... anyway the thing was tall... it took two 14 inch stools and a workbench to get the TV up that high, but it did work.

With all that hoisting out of the way, we were left with the new TV. If the other one was a monster, this one was king kong... Took alot of effort just to get it out of the car. Once it was on the dolly, we began to take it inside. I walk over and open the door for my dad... BAM! The box FLIPS and falls off the dolly. The corner of the box caught my dad's glasses and bent them... but worse yet the metal conecting the two lense left a gash in the bridge of my dad's nose. He washes up and we give it another shot. This time I actaully hold onto the box. We get it inside, set it down... and we send dad to go get a bandaid cause he's still bleeding.

He comes back, we put the TV on the coffee table while we get the wires hooked up. while he takes care of that I'm dismanteling the box... by hand. I get the box into managable peice after a while, and the cords get managed too.

But whats this? We don't get all the channels that we are supposed to... an nothings coming in as HD...

I could go on but we've now got a technitian coming on monday.

Oh and my dad's nose is fine.

The Man I Knew as Voemeth

So this afternoon in WoW, a man who was in the same guild as me from nearly the day I started to play the game decided to quit the guild. And the only thing he left was the vile message on out forums of:
"I have no interest in playing with people who are not only offensive individuals, but also incompetent. I have comment on this a number of time with no responce. As a result, I have left this guild. Have fun. "

If you can't get it from the title, his name was Voemeth. But more importantly than that he was a Voe. What is a Voe? Well the Voe's were the friends of Voeden, a good freind of mine from highschool. The Voe's were people he met in college.

In the days when we were few, we needed no leadership, we were all equals. Voemeth didn't seem to think that though... In a time when we didn't need it he chose to lead us... and he did it poorly. He was the man responsible for that "Crimson Dawn" mess that happened a few months back. He made the decision that led us down that bad road.

Worse yet he was the one who demanded that we switch servers... in a way that totally disregarded the intentions of the rest of the guild. The rude way this was handled was a leading contributer to why my good friend Denis, aka. Utarefson, decided to quit the game. I mean it was his own choice and all... but he definately did not approve of what went down.

All of this to get us into Desk Chair Lamp. A promissed land... and yes DCL is a good place to be. Acomplishing the end-game goals while surounded by people who are likeable, it really doesn't get all that much better...

But today after not being online more than 3 or 4 times in the past month, Voemeth decided that he couldn't take it anymore. I don't know where it came from but aperantly he managed to be on enough to find a way to be morally outraged. But whatever, he's not going to be missed, his attempt to make waves with his exit fell on deaf ears. His lame rant didn't mean a thing to anyone.

The For Real Deal

My 3d animation stuff is going great.... WAIT BACK UP! Have I EVER actaully talked about what I ACTUALLY do?! It's all WoW this and Gamecube that! (Btw the game of the week (ie. what I feel like playing this week) is Veiwtiful Joe.)

OK fine, you want the real deal? Well here it is, I'm doing the Multimedia program down at ITT... so I'm getting to be quite good with 3d Max and Flash, which is good cause those programs ROCK. And the people who I go to class with are hilarious. And several of them are VERY talented. Molten Core has always been boring but it's gotten to the point that that's the only way to advance in the game. But a few people broke off and began playing on one of the new PVPRP servers... I joined them and for a time it was fun... but starting over is really unappealing. These events are leading me to want to quit the game all together, which isn't really that bad of an idea.

So in my down time I've started playing Tales of Symphonia again... this will be my third play through but that doesn't matter too much because it is pretty much the best game of all time. This time around I'm gonna get a different ending... I got the same ending in my first two runs, and so I really want to see the other way things can go. In fact I've already begun to play things differantly... I found that you can go to certain areas earlier than you are supposed to be able to. When you do you end up fighting so very tough battles and I had a particularly hard one against some golden pegasus thing... beating it was particularly satisfying...

So when I'm done with Tales of Symphonia there will probably be another WoW patch so I'll see if that renews my interest.

Sigma Star Saga

Well I just got through playing the GBA game Sigma Star Saga. It provided a bit of a refreshing break from the farming drudgery of World of Warcraft. An RPG with space shooter stages as the random battles... sounds weird but it was pretty fun.

It was tragically short, though... only 6 "chapters" with each chapter containing exploration of a differant planet and a long stage with a boss at the end. So the game only contains 6 real levels mixed in with the random battles. Some of them are really easy and boring while others will have you strugling to kill enough enemies (you can't leave battle untill you kill a certain number of enemies). You are also given a random ship in the random battles and some of them really, really suck. And chapter 5 has a pretty bad bug in it (very avoidable if you know how) that causes endless random battles.

The whole experience left me not knowing what to think... that and the box was hidden behind some random crap game (good games are never hidden)... The game is weird and short... but you know what, everything that is there was increadibly enjoyable. The story was good, the shooting was fun...

All in all... it took me 3 days to beat it... had alot of fun... now back to WoW...

Heat, Drought, and an Empty Wallet

This summer has been a real killer. Almost no rain. The temperature is just now pushing 100. The grass is just dead. And with no real job I'm feeling the pressure of not being able to mow my lawn for a little extra cash from my parents.

Yes it's sad I know. And I am not implying that that it is upseting... I do infact mean that my dependance on the current afairs of grass is really pathetic... especailly since it's my parents' grass. I mean everyone knows that lawn mowing services can be quite lucrative and whatnot but having your major source of income be from your parents and NOT be an actaul allowance is kinda a pain. I do other things odd jobs and chores that make their lives easier (I have no idea what my mother does with error messages on the computer when i'm not within ear shot) but the lawn is the only one of these things I am paid for... and that's fair enough, our back yard is a monster and probably a heath risk to anyone who attempts it (not to mention that my dad is probably alergic to one of the kinds of weeds you have to mow over).

I guess I'm not saying anything at all. Cause even I don't know what I'm implying by all this.

About GTA

I find myself too lazy to exactly be topical... If you will recall good ol' Grand Theft Auto made the news once again with the secret hidden scenes.

I won't say that GTA has morals, I won't even say it's logical... "Go blow up a Warehouse... it doesn't matter who sees we'll just paint your car and change your lisence plates."

GTA got popular as one of the first games to have a "the world is your playground" feel to it. You can go any where you want and do any thing you want. But the fact that they geared this concept to crime... well whatever it's GTA.

The part i don't like over all... the news treats GTA like it's the tip of the iceberg when it comes to violent and immoral video games. And i find that to be insulting to the entire medium of video games... GTA isn't the tip of the iceberg... it is the iceberg.

Been Too Long Since the Last Warcraft Rambling

Now I know that I always kick myself when I get into the mood to talk about WoW but it consumes my life so much that I often have little else to talk about... and it helps to get it off my chest.

So long after the server move my guild of Hellscream's Heroes slowly broke apart and began to join up with a guild by the name of Desk Chair Lamp. Now good ol' DCL was over on our old server too, but they had little or no reputation back then... but the guys of HH like them and followed them to the new server and before long just had to join up. One by one the asimlation began many of us fearing a repeat preformacne of the fiasco that was The Crimson Dawn (our previous attempt in guild fusion that ended in nothing but headaches). So eventually HH consisted of about 5 members... only 1 of which was online at any given time... (ie. me). So I gave up and joined up... and it really wasn't that bad.

With the combined power of DCL and HH as well as another guild that had joined DCL we had become a formidible force... and a large one... with about 90 seperate accounts or something. Or atleast I recall hearing that. But it doesn't feel that big at all... but we are able to do all of the major endgame raid dungeons so we are really moving forward in the game.

But getting all of this gets you noticed... in good and bad ways. There is a guild by the name of Yakuza that was not too fond of us. They were just as big as us but they had a horrible reputation and were hated by everyone on the server, even people who are on the same side. There was an old grudge between Yakuza and the founding members of DCL...

This is why:
Back long ago there was a guild on the old sever by the name of Order of the Dead, or OTD for short. They were a big guild with many rude members but they never gained much in the way of public spotlight aside from their leader "Dave". Now there were 2 characters who nobody liked... Dave who was on the horde side and Copperfeild who was on the alliance side... see the conection? Good so did everyone else. These 2 went out of their way to be annoying and it worked.

So when OTD went to change servers a practical joke was played on them... or maybe it was just someone's way to telling them that they were not welcome. You see 2 people can have the same name... but only if they are on different servers... so people went to the new sever and made characters with the names of all the OTD members. They also went and made a guild under the name Order of the Dead to make their lives even more miserable.

OTD had a sneaking suspicion that all of this was perpetrated by the guild Desk Chair Lamp dispite the fact that they had made countless enemies in their days. This assumption was brought on by 1 DCL member admiting to 1 of the name thefts.

So what happend to OTD? Well they joined up with a young guild by the name of Yakuza... and drove all of it's founding members insane. The founding members all jumped ship and Yakuza was the new name of OTD...

But what became of Yakuza? Well I am pleased to report that now THAT name has gone the way of the dinosaurs as well...

You see Blizzard (the company who made WoW) doesn't exactly like it when you name things after crime syndicates. I saw the same thing happen to a guild by the name of "Knights of Glory and Beer" because they went around abreviating it KGB. So the new guild name of Yakuza is "The Corporation"... lame name for lame people I guess.

So there is your history lesson for the day... all of which you did not ask for.

Oh and by the way: I'm working on something very unique in game... I'll post a screenshot when I acomplish it. It's a daunting task but I will succeed.

Lost

You gotta love it when you are looking for things... you look in 900 different places and it always turns up in the obvious place that there is "no way I wouldn't know about it if it was there". Since i had lost my copy of the old one without finishing it (I loaned to to a friend who I used to go to college with but I don't go there anymore) I've felt a serious need to pick up this one and finish it.

But I had forgetten one thing about Fire Emblem that I had learned in the old one....

It's a hard game, with no margin for error. It's a turn based stratedgy game that begs you not to let a single unit die. Each one is a unique character with a name and a back story and when you finsh the game you get to find out all about what becomes of them... but if you let them die... they never come back, your forces are then lacking that unique addition and you don't get to have the full ending...

The game features some advanced saving capabilities... if you turn off your game you can resume a battle from exactly where it left off... to the point that you can watch the same unit die 300 times... And if you get hit with a critical hit (a rare occurance that deals tripple damage and kills pretty much anyone in 1 hit) you can watch the same critcal hit for those 300 times. There is only one hope to save the lives of your team and that is to start the whole mission over... which happens ALOT.

The Fire Emblem series has existed since the NES days... but they decided that america wasn't ready for it. The truth is that I'm gonna agree with them on that one. Probably the only game that never came to this country that I can say we just couldn't have heandled it... I don't think I'd be quite right in the head if I grew up with this game... Playing it is like torture at times. It's the most frustrating thing on the planet.

In this one mission there is fog so you can't see the enemies... and on the other side of the map are pesants about to be attacked by a giant spider. You have to hurry to save them... so I rushed in with a guy on a horse... oh but what is this? The gaurd next to the pesants is using a horse slaying lance.... BAM! 1 hit kill.... reset after 20 minutes of battle.......

I'll admit it... I cried....

Year Old FF7 Saves

It may come as a shock to some of you... or maybe not since I don't know if I have much of an audience... that I have never finished Final Fantasy 7.

YES THAT'S RIGHT I HAVE NOT BEATEN THE MOST POPULAR GAME IN THE ENTIRE FINAL FANTASY SERIES!

What can I say, I get side tracked easily. I got the game when I was in like junior high and the playstation belonged to my brother who was going away to college. Well I only got to play it every summer when he came home and I'd have to start over because I had no idea where I left off. So I continued this habit of starting the game from scratch for the durration of of his time in college. When he graduated he gave the playstation to me and I had planned to finish the game then... but new games keep coming out and it falls down further and further on my to-do list and the starting over thing is not helping at all.

So I have devoted some time into getting this game behind me... It's about time it's been 6 years since I bought it (I was a bit shocked when I did this math but it's true oddly enough). There are Twice as many Final Fantasy games now and I'm still back on 7... not that the series is sequential and not that I own a PS2 to continue playing it but dammit now is not the time for details like that.

I don't really know why but I feel like I should beat all the Final Fantasy games. Well not 3 or 4 cause they don't exist in america... and not 11 cause that is an MMORPG... I should probably finish off Crystal Chonicles though it's not really that much of a Final Fantasy (the battles aren't even turn based, much more of a hack and slash adventure really).

I beat the first one on my gameboy on a road trip over the weekend. I was shocked that the final boss was actually that guy Garland from the very begining of the game... Yeah that's right I just slipped in a huge spoiler without even warning about it. The plot in that game was all screwy anyway. They don't really tell you what the premiss is untill you have beaten the game really.

Rip Off

I consider myself a cartoon buff. There is just some quality to animation that is far more attention grabbing than live action. Whenever I pass a cartoon when channel surfing I have to see what it is... unless it's on like PBS or something... in that case forget it.

So I know all about the cartoons and their plots and premisses. And every now and again there comes along 2 shows that are so similar and they started so close to one another that one of them just has to be the cheap knock-off. Like back when Digimon and Pokemon both got TV shows at the same time. Guess which one was actually more entertaining... It was Digimon even though Pokemon is more popular in every thing it does. Well nothing was more of a knockoff in those days than Monster Rancher anyways.

So now this year's face off for the plot of keeping the balance between normal everyday people and the secret world of magical creatures and magic and stuff. Pretty specific plot for there to be 2 shows about it so one of them has to exist to sponge the popularity of the other. And if that isn't enough to have you convinced there is also suspiciously a talking dog in both shows. The shows are "American Dragon Jake Long" and "The Life and Times of Juniper Lee".

Now Jake came first by several months and that usually means that it is the original and best. But the show isn't even funny. It takes place in New York and the main character's use an uncomfortable amount of slang... slang that I don't even think is popular right now (not that I'd know). I'm all for using like the word homies in a sentence and stuff like that but when you have entire sentences that need translated... sentences that are important to the story... I can't accept it. Nor can I accept serious dramatic moments where every sentence ends in "yo" and "ya heard" and to a lesser extent "representen". I saw an episode last week that was almost good but the slang really killed it. And I mean like brutally mauling.

So what about June? Well that show is actaully good. The setting is suburban so it's easier to relate to and it doesn't lend itself to having the crap beat out of it by bad slang. The jokes are actaully funny, hearing "I'm a little girl!" in an Arnold impression (thanks to some viking ghosts possesing people and stuff) is good for a laugh any time. I could go on and on but I've made my point it is clearly the superior show.

So I have no idea how the crappier show came first... probably there was a leak of information and they slapped together Jake in a week or two to begin competeing long before there was competition.

Grievous

Starwars episode III was very good... I saw it a few weeks ago and forgot that I wanted to talk about it. But 1 thing bothered me... and anyone can guess what that is... My favorite villain of all time fell short of his potential... by a lot.

In episode III General grievous is pathetic. He is such a coward, he doesn't even fight cool when he does fight, his arms are chopped off way too quick... Now this may just mean that Obi Wan is just that good, but even then good ol' GG was really off his game.

I was at Best Buy yesterday and I grabbed the last copy of clone wars from the starwars display at the front of the store. So now I can relive the General's glory days any time I please.

Oh and as a side note... on last night's Inuyasha... there was a robot ninja zombie... it's true! His name was Jinkotsu and he fit the description perfectly. Feudal Japan + mostly mechanical body + reanimated corpse = Robot Ninja Zombie!!!! Too bad I couldn't find a picture of him... He could have been my mascot.

Happy Flag Day

Oh what a great holiday! The day that nobody knows about untill you look at the calender and say, "Oh yeah... where'd we put the flag... that needs to be hanging up...."

But this day means so much more than just "Oh yeah... riiiiiiiight..." to me! I happens to be my birthday.

When I was a kid people would ask me when my birthday was... I'd always answer with enthusiasm "Flag day" which was always answered with a blank stare and "oh...and when is that?"

As I got older I decided to do things the other way around when I realized I was the only person on earth that knows when flag day is. But I miss that initial confusion that gives off a sence of "I know more than you". I got to relive that feeling when I learned Japanese though... But I've always hated when people asked me to say something in Japanese... so I would always answer with "Wakarimasen"... so the conversation would go

A: Say something in Japanese
B: Wakarimasen
A: What does that mean
B: I don't know

Because for those of you who don't know... Wakarimasen truly means "I don't know"... I used that trick for a while. My friend Denis worked is way around the little trap once I made a WoW character named Wakarimasen. He asked what it was from rather than what it meant so I gave him a real answer as a reward for getting around the clever word trap.

Actaully speaking of conversations that are best represented in letters I just want to post a random moment I had the other day...

A: Kittens
B: no kittens
C (me): Maybe kittens?
A: Well Played
B: touche

Impresive Thingies

There are some things that I have seen that deserve linkitude...
Firstly if you have 11 minutes to kill then I suggest that you check out Super Mario 3 in under 11 minutes. And if you have a lifetime to kill I sugest you try to beat this dude's record... but seriously I'm more than just impressed by this one.

Speaking of impressive video game playing check out this arcade action!

Next check out something that I am shocked by as a guy who is studying 3d animation. (And acording to another friend has alot of rumors about that, which I won't say but it's really easy to asume what the misconception is and where it came from).

Did I mention the 19 million dollars... I don't think that sunk in yet... $19,000,000... look at it with the zeros in it. All the new systems were unveiled and I can't say I took much interest in the PS3 or the X-Box 360... but that's cause I'm a Nintendo guy. So the anouncements about the Nintnedo Revolution as well as the internet play options that are coming to the Nintendo DS got me pretty excited.

There isn't too much on the GCN front. But the new Zelda makes up for the lack of quantitiy. Probably gonna check out the new additions to the line up of the mario sport games too just cause they put such a nice spin on those concepts. Not sure how Mario will transition into Baseball and Soccer but it's sure to be interesting. And The combination of Mario and Dance Dance Revolution is probably gonna be interesting... so much for Donkey konga being Nintendo's answer (though kinda late in the trend) to the DDR games.

The internet DS stuff got me hyped up enough to want a DS ASAP even though there are only a handful of games that are out right now that I'm interested in.

I'd go on and on about the new Zelda but I think I'll do that justice by giving it it's own post.

Parking

Firstly a bit of follow up with my last post, it's all sorted out, we all switched servers mostly to avoid turning it into one of those things that leaves everyone pissed off for months...cause it was really a tiny deal to begin with and not worth making it into a war.

Now onto what has been on my mind... and that has been parking. It's really something that I have been thinking about a lot. I think I really suck at it. Or more importantly, I THINK that I suck at it, so I never take chances. I always go for the spaces with nothing on either side even when they are really far from where I want to go. When I go to my classes there is a loop of parking spaces... I always take the full loop and pull into the space across from the end of the loop. Sure I end up looking kinda weird to the people who hang out at the smoker's door (I believe every place where people spend more than an hour at a time has one of those) but it's a small price to pay to... be a total wuss about parking...

But then there are the people who have no concern for the safety of their own car or anyone else who passes it. I really think there should be a law against parallel parking at the crest of a hill. That and parking next to a stop sign. That is a TERRIBLE place to have 2 lanes whittled down to one. I drove past one of those situations not long ago and I totally felt unsafe, and I was the only guy on the road at the time. As for the hill crest parking... there are 2 homes near me that insist on leaving their cars there 24 hours a day. I really feel like putting some kind of note on their windshield to tell them to move their car before there is a crash because of it... and there is going to be, I'm almost certain... I look forward in dread to the day they are on the news talking about why the heck they leave their car there in the first place.

Driving just bugs me sometime. I can never leave the house and come back without having a brand new rant about how much I hate people. When I was on foot in my youth I always hated how people drive. You had to constantly be darting in front of traffic that doesn't even hint that they would stop for you if they WERE closer to you. And somehow I still ended up feeling like I was the rude one... till I started getting older. Then the new feeling was summed up with a sarcastic mumbling of "Oh yes, how dare I slow you down by 5 seconds when I have 15 minutes to wait for another opportunity to cross the fricking street".

Today however I saw the dumbest combination of pedestrians ever to be seen. Two old ladies walking down the street side by side on my side of the road... with their backs to traffic... taking up one full lane. on the other side is a little kid and his mom playing in the street. I have no idea what should have been done to fix this one... but first off, the old ladies should have been walking on the other side of the road so that they were FACING on coming traffic. My reaction to it was flawless but I'm still certain that I terrified atleast 3 people... not sure if the kid got it....

Irritating

Ok... If you haven't gathered it by now don't get out much so World of Warcraft is the stage for many of the events of my life now. Since I play with my friends it can be a little more than just a game at some times. It's more like hanging out with my friends without the hassle of organizing to see them in person, which can be hard since we all live by very different schedules.

But as of late this ability to hang out has been threatened. First, in an attempt to be able to do some of the bigger dungeons in the game we joined up with another guild and became one big guild. Now for those of you who aren't familiar with the terminology... A guild is a group within the game. You can only be in one guild and you have a chat box that is used by the guild to talk to one another and only the people in your guild can see this conversation.

The problem with taking 2 separate guilds and making a new one is that there is a fine line....scratch that.... there is a gigantic bold faced line between going into dungeons with people (an endeavor that can take a few hours) and sharing your guild chat with them every time you log on. It's like inviting people to be your roommate. And even then that analogy is not quite accurate. It would be truly like taking 50 people and cramming them into the same room and being able to distinctly hear everything they say. Add in the fact that they kept inviting more people into the guild... some of them terrible jerks... the new guild was just not what we had in mind.

So after this fiasco, we returned to our small guild and were more helpful to each other than ever before. And things were great for a time.

But then something new came for us to be torn over. You see several months ago they gave people the opportunity to go from high population and poorly functioning servers to newer low population servers. This went down for a time and we had decided to form the larger guild to make up for the groups of people who we knew who had decided to do the transfer. The problem about this is that many of our guild want to transfer as soon as it opens up again, which it is about to do. The reason this sucks is that I don't know the people that they want to join up with and I have gotten a good reputation as a good person to take into dungeons on the server we are already on. There are several people who invite me to help them with dungeons on pretty much a daily basis. This steady supply of dungeon runs is very important and is a legitimate reason to want to stay on the old server... And we have a few others who aren't thrilled about the prospects of leaving either.

Starwars hits the...little screen?

So I was browsing through the web comics that I have in my favorites as I do pretty much every morning before class... or turning on World of Warcraft (you know whatever I have planned for the day). I stumbled upon some interesting (I misspelled that and accidentally clicked learn... So you can thank me if "interstice" passes through the spell check from now on) news when I got to Penny Arcade. I'll borrow the link they provided.

If you are just too lazy to read that article yourself I'll sum it up. There's plans in the works for a Starwars TV series that'll take place between the next Starwars and the first one of the original trilogy. Also they are going to make a 3d animated version of the Clone Wars (the 3 years between episode II and III). Apparently the 2d ones weren't good enough for them, but the new versions are going to be half an hour long each so I'm betting it'll get rid of the choppy style of the action and make room for some new material. If it didn't the show would be over after about 4 episodes. But hey, any excuse to see more of General Grievous.

The show that takes place between III and IV however is going to be life action and have new characters. Really I don't know what to make of this cause I have seen what they can do with new characters. It's been the general consensus that the new starwars just aren't living up the the old ones. It's also general consensus that the pod race goes on WAY too long in Episode I. But if they do a good job of it then I might watch... I think Starwars is so ingrained into popular culture that it's hard not to see it even if it's not as good as you are hoping.

So here's hoping that it's worth it to hope.

Strategy

You just gotta love how heavily strategic games have started to be marketed toward kids in the past few years. Yeah no one makes a better tactical genius than a 7 year old. I'm talking of course about Pokemon and Yugioh. I've dabbled in both... I've played the pokemon video games and am thankfully not enough of a fanatic to collect all...what are they up to now? 375 or something...who cares anyway? And for about a year I collected Yugioh cards and built up quite a few good decks.

From what I've seen the best part by far is totally decimating the game's target audience. All the kids are running around using the popular things, which are total pieces of crap. Pikachu may be cute but it's just a little electric rat. It's worthless compared to some of the more advanced stuff in the game. I'm sorry but when you pit a 7 year old vs a college student the results are always going to be hilariously lopsided.

You misspelled "chin"

Well I just discovered the marvels of spell check. Or at least the spell check on this site. It's not flawless... It doesn't know the word "ninja".

So as any of you who have read before I discovered the spell check know, I spell not so good. When I use Word the red squigglly(I know this is spelled wrong but look at that the spell check came back with NO sugestions) lines fly up all the time. But those are easy enough to fix. It's the green ones that are frustrating. They underline perfectly normal acceptable English and sit there mocking you... telling you that you talk not so good with the grammar. Really It escapes me how that thing was programmed. It considers the weirdest things to be grammatical errors. And when you go back and click ignore it only last a few seconds before the program for some reason remembers that it wanted to make fun of you, and the green appears again under the same perfectly normal sentence. I'll admit I use some complex phrasing, and I love... ellipses... but that's no reason for the dang thing to go nuts all the time! If I did this is Word, it'd be covered in green I just know it. Sure it's nice to know when you forgot to put a space next to your comma but still, it really bugs me.

So until next time, remeber to talk so good with the grammar!

Talk the talk

As much as I don't want to bore people with another post about Warcraft I think I can do this in a way that everyone can enjoy. I really like my Friday class because we get to a point where we are doing classwork that once we finish it we can leave. The end result of this time is that everyone starts talking because we have nearly unlimited time to do the work and the only factor is when we actually decide to leave. So I end up hearing so great stories as a result. But the best part is really the nerdiest conversations. We've talked about several video games and anime. And some of them are great stories... And some of them remind you of talking to a kid. If you have ever talked to a kid about pokemon you know EXACTLY what kind of stories those are. Sometimes I don't want to talk, you just want to get the work done and go home.

But we've talked about cool enough stuff for it all to be worth it. We've devoted a lot of attention to the new starwars movie. As well as the Clone Wars stuff from cartoon network. General Grievous is pretty fricking awesome, can't wait to see him in action on the big screen. Anyone who can wield 3 lightsabers at once is destined to be a fan favorite in my opinion. And I didn't notice how cool the red and blue clone troopers were before someone pointed it out... They look like the rest of them except that they are red and blue. And they are much more awesome than the other ones. There are just the 2 of them... The red one and the blue one.

I would say more but I have completely realized what hour it is....And I shall be sleeping ASAP.

Apocalypse in the World of Warcraft

So I play the MMORPG World of Warcraft. As anyone who plays it knows, the latest patch introduced the player versus player "honor" system. I'll try to keep the specifics to a minimum because the chaos that has ensued can be a little technical. Every city is being attacked every hour of every day. The NPCs (non-player characters if anyone doesn't know that) incharge of public transportation are picked off one by one. I'm really lucky that I picked to play as a mage because I have the ability to warp to the capitol cities to escape the atrocities of war. I've had some fun with it but the usually ends poorly after about a half hour when reinforcements start pouring in... For the other side only.

I checked the forums but they are the same stupidity of complaints, complaints about people who complain, complaints about people who complain about people who complain, and ofcourse people who tell everyone to shut up and that it's not worth posting on the forums though they themselves come back to say that to people every day. I really don't know why I bother to read it at all... I guess I just want a heads up on the horrible things that the frenzied masses are going to force the developers to create.

So I don't really know what is going to happen with this honor system. It's not very honorable considering that it killed the occasional respect between the opposing factions. In tandem with the consistent raids on all cities there are also roaming death squads ready to pick off anyone who actually wants to accomplish something. It's become foolish to do anything alone...And since that's how I got to the level cap for the most part I really feel for the people who have to try and gain levels in this mess.

What really needs to happen is they need to come out with the battlegrounds that they have been working on. With the PS3 and X-Box 2 starting their add campaigns with stuff on ESPN and MTV there is about to be another all out brawl that'll once again destroy what video games are all about. What on earth happened? Where did the days of Mario and Sonic go? Sure they are still around but it seems that almost no one cares about them. It's all first person shooters and super realistic rpgs with over complicated battle and leveling systems OH and of course whatever genre good old Grand Theft Auto fits into.

And there is no refuge for the style of games that we had in the past now that even the handhelds are moving up to 3D. I liked GBA cause it had that flare of 2D RPGs and sidescrollers that you don't get anymore. Graphics can only get to a certain point and then they will have to stop improving. It can't be possible to make things look more real than reality, is it? Because as close as they to reality is as close as they are to killing video games.

I can really picture it. Once they reach that point that they have been striving for... There will no longer be any style to graphics... Ever game will look like you walked outside. And for a few months people will love it... But after that they'll realize that it's all the same from then on out.

What's my point? Well I'm a Nintendo man at heart.

Beginnings

It's funny... I decide to start this little blog but I have no idea where to start. I could talk about myself...But I see little point, I'll get that across in time I assume. I always have trouble with beginnings... Or is it that I have problems with middles. It seems that I only ever get to beginnings. Endings can come early. Endings bring more beginnings. I've led a life of beginnings, never getting deep enough into the middle or the end. Maybe that's why I'm still a kid at heart. Too bad that I can't relate to kids. Then again you never know about the smart mature kids... They blend in with the adults. Or at least that's how it works on the internet.

Come to think of it that's a very interesting point (This is a thought process I have none of this planned... I'll take any tangent that looks hospitable enough). I've always seen the internet, or more importantly internet society, a cross section of human nature stripped down to it's essence. You can't tell the kids from the idiots, and you can't tell the smart kids from the adults. Everything dumb on the internet has been at least once been blamed on some 12 year old kid. Odds of that are little... Doubt that the 12 year olds of the world are that active on the internet to be responsible for all of it. Well anyway... I think I've made a good beginning... Lets see if I can work onward to a good middle... Only time will tell.
